Outdoor Advertising and Flags

In the current economic climate, every little bit of attention matters. What every business owner wants is consumer awareness. A restaurant owner, for example, must make sure that when people go hungry, his business is always included when people think about places to eat. Outdoor advertising is one of the best ways to draw local attention and create business presence.

There are many methods of outdoor advertising. One of the most effective methods use advertising flags and banners. These advertising tools are very affordable and easy to install.


There is a difference between a flag and a banner. A flag is allowed to fly freely while a banner is held in a fixed position. Displaying an advertising flag requires the use of a flagpole and concrete foundations or a type of anchor. Banners are installed in walls using frames. The difference in how they are installed affects their functionality.


A flag that is energetically flying in the air is good for drawing attention. However, you cannot put any writing into it since the constant movement makes it impossible to read. Banners are much more suited for writings and providing information.


There are safety concerns when using these outdoor advertising tools. Some winds can have enough speed to damage banner frames or topple flagpoles which can injure bystanders or passersby. That is why some flag manufactures recommend the use of fabrics that tear easier so that in case of strong winds, the fabric is torn instead of the poles or frames falling down.
